The first-ever all-digital, all-female Red Bull Magnitude big-wave event window has come to a close, and Keala Kennelly has won the top honors: the veteran Hawaiian hellwoman took home the award for Overall Performer.
As a refresher, Magnitude was a three-month event, challenging female chargers to surf the biggest waves possible during the Hawaiian season. The prize purse totaled $40k – KK took home $25k for her Overall Performer award, while Emi Erickson and Makani Adric won $5k each for Best Ride at Waimea Bay and Overall Runner-Up, respectively. KK also won a cherry-on-top $5k for Biggest Wave, thanks to her Outer Reef bomb on Oahu. And Makani bagged another $5k for the People’s Choice award, presented by Yeti.
