From serving time in state prison to studying in Kaplan Hall, rising fourth-year English student Benjamin Frandsen has never stopped telling stories. Frandsen arrived at UCLA last summer after applying from Valley State Prison, where he was incarcerated for nearly twenty years on convictions of second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter.
As we progress through life, one of the true joys is seeing the children of our friends, neighbors and fellow community members succeed.
