Animal rights campaigners are protesting outside Cambridgeâs new Urban Outfitters store this afternoon (May 6).
PETA protesters gathered at midday outside the new Sidney Street store, which opens today, to pressure the company into dropping animal products from its fashion lines. Urban Outfitters Inc owns the new shop, as well as recently-opened Anthropologie on Market Hill.
In a statement, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) accused the retailer of using alpaca fleece, wool, leather, cashmere, mohair, down, and silk, âeach a product of extreme violence, cruelty, and fear.â
