A horrified mother had to rush her bleeding 18-month-old son to hospital in the middle of the night after he was bitten by a rat while he slept.
Jane Hunter, 34, woke to screams from her toddler Rowan Smalley and dashed to find his bed spattered with blood coming from three teeth marks on his right hand.
Rowan was fine but Ms Hunter said she was left shaken as only two nights before she had woken up with the rodent on her own face.
The family, who live in a farmhouse in Out Rawcliffe, Lancashire and have since killed the rat, have even bought a cat called buttons to hunt any future rodents.
