Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle cruised to a fourth term as top elected executive of the nation s second most populous county on Tuesday, fending off a challenge from a one-time Democratic primary opponent.
Candidates in the race for the 17th District Cook County Board seat have different stances when it comes to gun control and whether stricter firearms laws are needed.
Incumbent Sean Morrison, one of only two Republicans on the Cook County Board, said he is often a lone voice on the Democratically controlled panel. But his challenger in the June 28 GOP primary, former county commissioner Elizabeth "Liz" Doody Gorman, says Morrison is too much of a lone wolf.
