Anantara expands portfolio in the Netherlands | Aspire Travel Club

Hotels | Netherlands | May 25, 2021 | Erica Bush Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is set to make its Netherlands debut with its first property in the capital city opening in autumn 2021.  The hotel brand will take over a historic building in Dam Square currently operating as NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. Anantara will oversee a soft refurbishment of the property, upgrading some of the guest rooms and suites and the garden. A new gym and spa will be added, featuring specialised treatment rooms, a sauna and a hammam. When the rebrand is complete, the 402-room property will be known as Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky.

The Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam at dusk. Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas will launch its first property in the Netherlands, the Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam, this fall. Located in Dam Square in city center, the 155-year-old property, currently the NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, will undergo a soft refurbishment before the rebranding. The redo will include select guestrooms and suites, as well as the addition of a garden, spa and gym.  Accommodations at the 402-room hotel will include a two-bedroom, 329-square-foot Presidential Suite and a nearly 500-square-foot Royal Suite overlooking the Royal Palace of Amsterdam.  Amenities will include events spaces, including the 19th-century glass-covered inner Wintergarden.

The property, which will be Anantara s first hotel in Holland, has over 155 years of history and dates back to 1866 when Mr. Adolph Wilhelm Krasnapolsky, a charismatic Polish tailor, opened a tiny coffee house on the site. As it grew in popularity, he added rooms for rent and later rebuilt it into a modern hotel. In advance of the Autumn rebrand, the 402-room hotel will receive a soft refurbishment of the guest rooms, suites and garden. A new spa and gym will also be added.
