Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest-reigning monarch, will be laid to rest at Windsor Castle on Monday following a funeral service at London's Westminster Abbey.
The Government of Canada will be commemorating the historic day with a national ceremony in Ottawa featuring a military parade, a ceremony at Ottawa’s Christ Church Cathedral, a 96-gun salute and a flyover.
The Conservative Party of Canada announced Friday that it's going ahead with the planned leadership event that will name the party's new leader even though the country is in the midst of a period of national mourning after the death of Queen Elizabeth.
