“All the players met today for the first time since the new guidelines were announced,” one of the executives told ET. “It was just an initial discussion, where everyone got together with their input and ideas on the way forward.”
Another executive said that players are still trying to wrap their heads around guidelines and how their business and operations would be impacted.
“There are multiple parts to the guidelines. While some are legal, some have product related ramifications. Most of the companies also have multiple layers within organisations, so it will take some time for everyone to be on the same page. One of the key items was on how to ensure that IAMAI remains the only independent self-regulatory body.”

Ravi Shankar Prasad said that objectionable content must be removed within 24 hours. Prasad added that the originator of the objectionable content must also be disclosed
