We saw the victim by that time come running out in the street and fell down. Obviously he was shot. He was paying when the shooter approached him and fired multiple times hitting him more than once in the lower extremity. It does doesnt appear to be a random shooting. We believe they may have known each other. They believed the shooter was in the parking garage and so locked it down to search, but didnt find him. We are doing systematic checks through ut yo the other building throughout the other buildings. Once it reopened customers found themselves in long lines and facing big bills. Public for about two hours. Around 6 30, police say a man was paying at the man booth at the 5th and Mission Garage when someone came up from behind and shot him several times in the lower part of his body, prompting police to close off all entrances and exits to the garage. We took all the public outside of the parking garage, and we used our Tactical Units to do a systematic church floor by floor to check all the vehicles and the parking garages to make sure that the subject wasnt still outstanding and on the loose. Reporter items that appeared to belong to the victim. We counted at least four bullet casings. Very unsettling. Its not safe to do anything anymore. We cant live in fear either. Reporter investigators say theyre now looking at Surveillance Video in the garage and surrounding areas to see where the suspect went. It doesnt appear to be a random shooting.
