Arkansas Valley classrooms could look closer to normal this upcoming semester thanks to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment s latest guidance on COVID-19.
In conjunction with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, CDPHE s guidance update from July 20 lifts statewide masking mandates for schools and outlines a plan to prioritize in-person learning. The guidance is effective August 1. What they have put out allows us to return essentially to normal at this point, said Superintendent of Fowler School District R4J Alfie Lotrich. We are hoping that will hold but there is so many factors at play that right now I think all we have is hope that it will stay that way.
