Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs condemns election violence LISTEN 1
President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs has condemned recent acts of election-related violence that took place in different parts of the country.
In a statement, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, the Paramount Chief of the Osu Traditional Area, urged Ghanaians to “remember that we live in a country which is grounded in a constitution and governed by laws.”
“Therefore, any disagreements with regards to any aspect of the electoral process must be addressed and resolved using the appropriate procedures prescribed by the law.”
He cautioned that “these events will undermine the fundamental peace and freedom on which our country is founded and that which we all currently enjoy.”

The Osu Traditional Council, led by the Paramount Chief of the Osu Traditional Area and the President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI has called on all Ghanaians to act within the laws of the country to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
The Council says acts of violence and lawlessness preceding and following the declaration of the December 7, 2020 election results are un-Ghanaian and have the tendency to undermine the peace, and therefore urged all aggrieved persons to pursue redress via laid down rules.
