Poole & Sandbanks Take yourself on a self-guided walk of Poole s Old Town by picking up a leaflet for The Cockle Trail from the Poole Welcome Centre on the Quayside. Make sure you visit Poole Museum, also on the waterfront. From the quay you can admire the natural harbour dotted with islands.

Roadworks in Portland Beach Road will finish by end of next week

ROADWORKS on a key route connecting Weymouth to Portland are set to be finished by end of next week . Nighttime road users have been delayed on the A354, Portland Beach Road since last Thursday (April 8) after road marking works started. The work, which starts in the late evening to avoid peak travel times, is being carried out by contractor WJ South West on behalf of Dorset Council between Hamm Roundabout and Osprey Quay Roundabout. Works being carried out in Osprey Quay Roundabout A spokeswoman from Dorset Council said: Our contractor WJ are carrying out night works to refresh the high friction surfacing (coloured material) on the approaches to Hamm Roundabout and Osprey Quay Roundabout.
