The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo will on Saturday be vaccinated against the deadly coronavirus.
The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Faisal Shuaib, who disclosed this during the second edition of State House weekly briefing held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said Nigeria would begin to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to its citizens on Friday after a launch that would take place at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Shuaib said this as the Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu, in an SMS sent to one of our correspondents in Calabar on Thursday evening, disclosed that the Federal Government would on Monday in Abuja distribute the vaccine to states.
The Federal Government has canvassed gradual adoption and implementation of the transitioning scheme for fossil fuels, especially for Africa’s developing economies with huge energy access gaps.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has said Nigeria’s commitment to energy transition is firm, adding that the country will ensure it realises its commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050.
According to a statement on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, the Vice President spoke during a virtual meeting he had with a delegation of the European Union led by its Executive Vice President, Mr Valdis Dombrovskis, on Tuesday.
The statement was titled “Don’t block financing for gas investments yet, Osinbajo insists in dialogue with EU.”
Akande quoted the Vice President as maintaining the advocacy that the international community should preserve financing for gas projects in Nigeria and other developing countries, during the transition to net-zero emission.
