WEST FIFE venues are among 12 unveiled by NHS Fife that will become community vaccination clinics. The health board say that, since autumn, a wide range of potential premises across the Kingdom had been assessed for their suitability. Fife s health chiefs had to be satisfied that venues could safely store vaccine supplies, get rid of clinical waste and ensure safe physical-distancing requirements could be met. The 12 venues confirmed as community vaccination sites are: Parkgate Community Centre, Rosyth; East End Park, Dunfermline; Dunfermline East Church; The Lochgelly Centre; Templehall Community Centre, Kirkcaldy; Randolph Wemyss Memorial Hospital, Buckhaven; Rothes Halls, Glenrothes; Cupar Corn Exchange; East Neuk Centre, Anstruther; The Larick Centre, Tayport; St Andrews Community Hospital; and Tayside Institute Community Centre, Newburgh.

NHS FIFE say considerable progress has been made in the COVID-19 vaccination programme for people aged 80 and over. And the health board said some medical practices were reporting a 100 per cent uptake among those offered the jab. NHS Fife director of pharmacy and medicines, Scott Garden, said: Considerable headway has been made in the vaccination of our residents aged 80 and over and we expect that the programme will continue to gather pace as the supply of vaccine increases. “The staff working in medical practices across Fife are working diligently to roll out the vaccination programme as quickly as the supplies allow, and we would like to thank them for their efforts thus far.
