Atletico Madrid are champions of Spain for the 11th time in their history.
Diego Simeone s side defeated Real Valladolid 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, with star striker Luis Suarez scoring the all important goal on the day, his 21st of the 2020/21 La Liga season.
Valladolid actually took the lead in the 18th-minute through Oscar Plano and Atletico fans would certainly have been chewing their nails at that point.

Atletico Madrid pipped city rivals Real Madrid to the La Liga title on Saturday after Luis Suarez fired them to a 2-1 comeback win at Real Valladolid.
Valladolid took a shock lead in the 18th minute when Oscar Plano slotted past Jan Oblak to complete a sweeping counterattack after Yannick Carrasco had lost control of the ball following an Atletico corner.
Just as they had done in last week s comeback win over Osasuna, Atletico missed a series of clear opportunities but they drew level after a moment of magic from Angel Correa, who danced his way through the defence before arrowing into the bottom corner in the 57th minute.

Real Valladolid 1-2 Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid were crowned champions for the first time since the 2013/14 season after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Real Valladolid, who were relegated in the final match at Estadio Jose Zorrilla.
Valladolid had a perfect start after Oscar Plano gave them the lead in the 18th minute with low strike past goalkeeper Jan Oblak from a one-on-one situation.
Atletico went to the break trailing 1-0 and Angel Correa brought them back into the game just before the hour-mark with a cracking strike from the edge of the box.
Luis Suarez snatched the winner for Diego Simeone s charges in the 67th minute with a clever finish at the near post after going clear on goal, one-on-one with goalkeeper Jordi Masip.
