according to police, jose pimentel had almost finished making a pipe bomb from supplies he bought at a 99-cent store and home depot over the past month. this is a model of some of the components of this bomb. this is what police say could have happened had it been set off. we had to act quickly yesterday, because he was in fact putting this bomb together. he was drilling the holes and it would have been not appropriate for us to let him walk out the door with that bomb. reporter: police say pimentel, a dominican republic born u.s. citizen, moved to washington heights from new york, after a divorce two years ago. they say he maintained web site called trueisland1.com, that advocated violence against the u.s. nypd started watching him two years ago. since then, a confidential informant told investigators pimentel wanted to use a bomb to kill soldiers and marines returning from afghanistan and iraq. they say he also wanted to blow up police stations and banks. the suspect
