森崎容疑者は10日夜、友人から西田さんが死亡したと聞いたことから母親に相談し、同署に出頭した。「暴力を振るって死んだことには間違いないが、殺すつもりはなかった」と容疑を一部否認している。
逮捕容疑は10日午前2時15分ごろ、門真市末広町の駐車場で、西田さんの頭や顔を殴ったり蹴ったりする暴行を加え、西田さんのリュックサックに入っていた財布から現金4万円を奪ったとしている。西田さんは急性硬膜下血腫で手術を受けていたが、暴行から約12時間後に搬送先の病院で死亡した。
門真署によると、付近の防犯カメラには森崎容疑者とみられる人物が西田さんに暴行後、リュックサックを持ち去る様子が映っていた。その直前には、2人が言い争う様子も近くの住民に目撃されていたという。【澤俊太郎】
