MSU-Apple Developer Academy in Detroit Accepting Applications
The Apple Developer Academy with Michigan State University in Detroit is accepting applications for its one-year program for students 18 years and older.
Those accepted will have the opportunity to become world-class developers using the Apple ecosystem to learn coding, design, entrepreneurship, and essential professional skills.
Students can expect to work on real-world challenges and connect with community and industry partners. In addition, MSU offers a month-long Foundation Program in Detroit designed for learners curious about the app economy, and interested in learning more about coding, design, and app development in general. LANSING Michigan State University is partnering with Apple to train students in the skills they need to develop apps in a growing industry.
The partnership brings Apple’s first U.S.-based developer academy to Detroit, where students will learn coding, design, entrepreneurship and additional professional skills to help them start careers in the apps economy.
“Apple is the perfect partner for us to help educate and prepare a diverse generation of coders, tech leaders and entrepreneurs, and Detroit Michigan’s innovative technology and premier urban hub is the right location for this academy,” MSU President Samuel Stanley Jr., said in a statement. “There is tremendous potential for this project moving forward and we’re excited to get started.”

Michigan State University has teamed up with Apple to launch the U.S.’s first Developer Academy in Downtown Detroit later this year.
The academy is a year-long program designed to give students the combination of coding, design, business and entrepreneurial skills needed to enter the iOS app economy.
