A proposed plan to export Ukrainian grain through the Lithuanian port of Klaipėda as an alternative to the Black Sea Grain initiative is not likely to be profitable, the general director of the Bega stevedore company, Laimonas Rimkus, said on July 28.
The Port of Klaipėda in Lithuania is set to undergo a major transformation in the coming years: from a “gateway to the world” to an “energy port”. In the future, the Port of Klaipėda is expected to become an energy centre, not just a cargo, shipbuilding and repair base, the Port of Klaipėda said in a press release.
