Nour’s village was caught in the middle of the Syrian civil war. Food ran out everywhere, and her family was forced to wander the dangerous streets searching for anything to eat.
“Our house was hit by rockets and gunfire, so we couldn’t go back, Nour explained. No place was safe and we went days without food. When we did find food, my mom gave it all to me and my brother and sister while she went without.”
“We were separated from my husband and to this day I don’t know what happened to him, Nour s mother, Miriam said. There was no food and missiles flew over our heads constantly. We would have died if we stayed there. My only choice was to take my children into Lebanon.”
