BOSTON – Provincetown resident Kerry Adams, 61, pleaded guilty to one count each of distribution, receipt and possession of child pornography during an April 20 federal court hearing. Sentencing is scheduled for July 22, according to a press release from Acting United States Attorney Nathaniel R. Mendell for the District of Massachusetts.
The former Provincetown School Committee member was arrested October 17, 2019, at his home.
Prior to Adams’ arrest, investigators downloaded and traced child pornography files to his residence, according to the press release. During his arrest, investigators found files on a laptop containing child pornography in folders associated with peer-to-peer software, including files that an undercover investigator had previously downloaded directly from Adams’s computer, according to the release.
