White Castle sees record single-day sales after opening world’s largest location in Orlando, will close lines early Adam Poulisse
The Castle is king of Florida again.
After opening Monday to much fanfare in Orlando, the world’s largest White Castle saw the company’s single-day record for sales, according to White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson.
“While we can’t share the specific sales number, we can share the previous record was held by our Scottsdale location from its opening day on October 23, 2019,” Richardson said in a prepared statement.
The restaurant chain tweeted Tuesday that, for the weeks ahead, it will open each day at 9 a.m. and close the line at 10 p.m., and remain open until every customer in line by 10 p.m. has been served both inside the Castle and through the drive-thru.

DeSantis suspending all local COVID emergency orders
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he was immediately suspending all local COVID-19 emergency orders by executive order on Monday. DeSantis also signed SB 2006, a bill passed last month that would permanently handcuff what both governors and local mayors can do amid pandemics. The new law gives the Legislature more power to overrule any emergency mandates or restrictions by the governor, the governor the authority to overrule cities and counties, and city and county commissions the power to overrule mayors.
