Oatly calls itself the original oat drink company. It turns liquid oats into vegan food and drinks, including milk, yogurts, lattes, and spreadable cheeses.
In July, the
Blackstone Group (BX) led a $200 million round for Oatly. Other investors included Winfrey; rapper Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation; Natalie Portman; former Starbucks Chairman and CEO Howard Schultz; Orkila Capital; and Rabo Corporate Investments, the investment arm of Rabobank.
Executives for Blackstone declined to comment. Oatly didn’t immediately respond to messages seeking comment. Winfrey could not be reached.
Oatly is the latest well-known company that is expected to tap the public equity markets this year. On Tuesday, the payments company Affirm set terms for its IPO, which could raise as much as $442.8 million.
