NASA s Artemis mission is on the right path, as Orion shared its first picture of Earth as it heads to the moon at more than 5,000 miles per hour. The capsule launched at 1:47am ET.
If all goes well during the three-week flight, the rocket will propel an empty crew capsule into a wide orbit around the moon, before the capsule returns to Earth with a splashdown in the Pacific in December.
There are 24 cameras on the rocket and spacecraft – eight on SLS and 16 on Orion – to document essential mission events including liftoff, ascent, solar array deployment
