sunday. welcome to our viewers on pbs in america and around the globe. in the past hour spain hasjoined france, germany and italy to become the latest countries to suspend use of the oxford astrazeneca jab. it s over concerns about blood clots. this is happening despite the who saying there is no indication of a link between the vaccine and blood clots. earlier, the republic of ireland and netherlands made a similar decision. it means eleven european nations in total have paused their rollout of the vaccination. some european countries have stopped using certain batches of the drug as a precautionary measure. the european medicines agency is carrying out a review into incidents of blood clots. it says the vaccine s benefits continue to outweigh its risks, and that it will hold an extraordinary meeting on the vaccine on thursday. around 17 million people in the european union and the uk have received a dose of the vaccine, with fewer than than a0 cases of blood clots reported.
