5 things to do this week: Ashland Film Fest, Portland Opera, and 30 days of Doggie Dash

As we move deeper into spring, more outdoor activities are cropping up. The Oregon Humane Society’s annual Doggie Dash morphs into a monthlong event with ideas for getting outdoors and helping raise funds for the shelter. We’ve also found several classical music events and a streaming film festival out of Ashland.

“Journeys to Justice”
Portland Opera presents an evening of art, song, opera, and short pieces about love, justice, and experiences of being a Black American. The collection was curated by Portland Opera artistic adviser Damien Geter and will be directed by Chip Miller, associate artistic director at Portland Center Stage. Performers include Portland Opera’s 2020-21 resident artists, Lynnesha Crump
