SALEM, Ore. (AP) Gov. Kate Brown is calling Oregon lawmakers back to the Capitol for a one-day special session, asking them to approve hundreds of millions of dollars to aid people and communities struggling with the pandemic and the effect of this summer’s devastating wildfires.
Some of the bills expected to be discussed at the Dec. 21 session include renter and landlord relief, a restaurant bill that will allow to-go cocktails, school liability protections and an additional allocation to the state’s Emergency Fund.

Gov. Kate Brown will call Oregon lawmakers into a one-day special session Monday to pass additional COVID-19 and wildfire relief legislation, her office announced Tuesday.
Brown is asking the Legislature to allocate $800 million to relief efforts for Oregonians, which could go to help tenants and landlords and providing funding for vaccine distribution, contact tracing and wildfire prevention and preparedness.

Gov. Kate Brown has called the Oregon Legislature to meet Monday to take up an $800 million relief package to assist Oregonians still reeling from destructive wildfires and the coronavirus pandemic.
It will be the third special session of the year.
Included in the governor s proposal is $150 million in aid for landlords, $50 million for tenants and $600 million put into the Emergency Board committee s account, with $100 million dedicated to wildfire response and $400 million for the coronavirus.
