Boston has already received more than 74 inches of snow over the last 30 days. I talked with firefighters to see how they are preparing for the winter blast. This freezes up and could crack a line or something. It makes it inoperable. One place you dont want a pipe to burst is on the fire. They are preparing to drain the tanks on a colder weekend. We could shut off the valve that would make the onent and the drains and let the water out. The technician also showed us the warm weather gear. Gloves and body suits need to be able to stay outdoors for hours. We come out and start the fire on the coldest day. It will be hot and sweaty and it needs to be dry.
