The Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians are concerned. “The Tribe supports any green economic development project that follows the law and does not harm local fishing jobs, our environment, or Tribal cultural resources,” Tribal Council Chair Brad Kneaper said in a press release. “We cannot support offshore wind development until we are provided assurance that it will do good and not harm the Tribe, its members, and the greater community.”

Medford City Council heard from staff Thursday about the city’s response to the fire and oil spill at Carson-Pacific Pride on the evening of April 12.
Councilors unanimously ratified a local emergency.
