Compassionate God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we desire or deserve; pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those things for which our prayer dares not ask; through Jesus Christ who is alive with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
O God, you inspire the hearts of the faithful with a single longing, grant your people to love what you command and to desire what you promise, so that in all the changes and chances of this uncertain world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ who is alive with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
O God, you shine the light of your truth so that any who stray into error may be able to return to the right path, grant that all who profess the Christian faith may reject whatever is contrary to the name of Christ and eagerly follow the way that leads to you; through Jesus Christ who is alive with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Christians, like the other Abrahamic desert faiths, have a strong connection to nature and its cycles. Easter is one example of making that connection.
