KABUL, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) NATO countries must conduct a thorough investigation into all alleged war-crimes committed by NATO-led coalition forces during the war in Afghanistan, an expert said Sunday. The Australian government has to bring the war criminals to justice and support the International Criminal Court (ICC) in facilitating investigations of war crimes in Afghanistan committed by Australian forces, local researcher Hujjatullah Zia told Xinhua.
On Nov. 9, the Australian Defence Force released the findings of a four-year inquiry centered on the country s special-forces soldiers in Afghanistan. It found the special services involved in the murder of 39 prisoners, farmers, and civilians, including children, during their time in the country.
