When NOW published its cover story on the Top 20 Toronto walks last month, some readers offered up alternate suggestions, and one of them was this two-pronged walk in Etobicoke. Not the easiest place to get to if you’re coming from downtown, but definitely worth checking out if you’re in the west end. It was one of the most tranquil walks I’ve taken so far in this series.

A trampoline blown onto railway tracks was struck by a train as howling gales caused travel problems across Kent.
Strong winds resulted in havoc for many this morning, with several routes blocked by fallen trees.

The trampoline was hit in the Tonbridge area and was initially described by train company Southeastern as an obstruction on the line . The power had to be turned off so staff could remove it.
Fortunately, there had been no passengers on the train.
Police shut down illegal party in student accommodation block

A party on Friday night attended by dozens of people led to two 19-year-old men given fixed penalty notices by police.
Bodycam footage uploaded by Avon & Somerset Police shows officers walking through a corridor at student accommodation on Frogmore Street amid laughter and shouting from partygoers.
Faces of the people at the party have been blurred out on the video, which shows dozens of people – some wearing masks – leaving the building.
