The plantation drive was organized by the Social Forestry department (SFD).
On the occasion, it was informed that under JK-Green Drive 3.5 lac saplings of conifer, broad leaved, fruit bearing and ornamental plants will be planted in the district this season across government institutions and vacant forest land patches besides other places in the district.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Principal of the College along with other staff members, Range Officers besides students also participated in this plantation drive by planting saplings in College premises.

SRINAGAR, Dec 29: After a huge public outcry over issuance of eviction notices to tribal population and traditional forest dwellers and axing of apple trees by forest department officials, the Government has started rolling out the Forest Rights Act 2006 (FRA) in Jammu and Kashmir.
A training schedule has been prepared by the Forest department wherein training will be imparted to Govt officers particularly Deputy Commissioners, Divisional Forest Officers (DFO’s) and Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDM’s) and other officers for implementing the Forest Rights Act in Jammu and Kashmir, according to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
3 The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) at the Artesia Training Delivery Point (TDP) in New Mexico is now poised to take on the challenge to deliver firsthand training on various explosives materials and designs which may be used during foreign or domestic terroristic events.
Instructors for the Artesia TDP were out on their new training area on the western side of their campus, Dec. 9-10 to test the effectiveness of explosives materials and training, which is scheduled to begin there in March 2021.
This need for explosive training was developed during a Curriculum Review Committee (CRC) with Participating Organizations (PO) to update the Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP) enterprise wide.
