Significant progress has been made in repairing properties damaged by Hurricane Elsa’s passing three weeks ago.
Giving an update on the work being done by Government, Prime Minister Mia Mottley revealed that assessments had been completed on 64 per cent of the damaged properties.
Mottley said that 2177 houses were damaged when the weather system struck on July 2, with the majority of those properties located in St Michael (475), Christ Church (411), St Philip (288) and St George (284).
“Of the 2177 cases, we’ve completed assessments on 1391 and those assessment teams are constituted with engineers, project managers, quantity surveyors, people who are versed in this task,” the Prime Minister assured.
