Paul A. Wilson A local man accused of assaulting two police officers has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to the charges. Paul Adam Wilson, 34, of Nancy, was sentenced in Pulaski Circuit Court May 12 on two counts of third-degree Assault on a Police/Probation Officer. Charges of Resisting Arrest, second-degree Fleeing or Evading Police (On Foot), and Public Intoxication through a Controlled Substance (excluding Alcohol) were dismissed in exchange for Wilson s guilty plea. The local grand jury indicted Wilson last February in connection to an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of December 15. According to Wilson s arrest citation, Somerset Police responded to a call about a man, believed to be impaired, walking in the middle of US 27 just before 3:20 a.m. that morning. Wilson was found walking north near Light no. 11 but ran to the southbound lanes when he saw the first marked police cruiser.

Chase leads to crash, multiple charges for Perry County man

Johnny D. Turner An eastern Kentucky man is facing multiple felony charges after leading local deputies in a pursuit Friday evening. Johnny Dylan Turner, 21, of Hazard, was arrested and charged with first-degree Fleeing or Evading Police (Motor Vehicle), first-degree Wanton Endangerment (Police Officer), first-degree Wanton Endangerment, second-degree Fleeing or Evading Police (On Foot), Tampering with Physical Evidence, Speeding (25 mph over Limit), aggravated Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs (first offense), Operating Vehicle with Expired Operators License, and Failure of Owner to Maintain Insurance (first offense). According to Turner s arrest citation, the incident began in Somerset at approximately 6:44 p.m. Friday when Pulaski County Deputy Sheriff Trent Massey saw a 2014 Hyundai Veloster cross the center line on Jarvis Avenue with its left tires. Dep. Massey initiated a traffic stop and the Hyundai came to a stop at Maplewood Drive.
