Henderson County Sheriff: man, woman arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

Oquawka, Ill.- The Henderson County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrests of two individuals on multiple charges. According to a news release, on Tuesday, January 3rd, at about 12:07 PM, Henderson County Deputies were called to Stronghurst for a possible domestic disturbance. When deputies arrived, the two people involved fled inside the residence. Additional assistance was requested and Officers from the Illinois State Police, Dallas City Police, Oquawka Police, and Stronghurst Police assisted. Deputies were able to make contact with 26-year-old Trevor Pierce of Stronghurst, and 38-year-old Stephanie Thurman of Rock Island. Upon further investigation, Deputies discovered a stolen vehicle inside the garage. A search warrant was conducted for the residence and Deputies discovered methamphetamine and a handgun. Pierce and Thurman were both arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Possessi

Gladstone man arrested for burglary after Police K9 flushes him out of woods

A Gladstone man was arrested on Sunday afternoon by Henderson County Sheriff's Deputies on multiple felony charges including burglary and possession of meth. Deputies arrested Kurt W. Scott after they received a call from a rural Biggsville resident that said there was a burglary in progress at their residence. The caller said their dog had scared the suspect off and he left walking across a cornfield. Deputies, as well as Oquawka Police, responded, and located footprints in the snow. The Sheriff Department's Auxiliary K9 Jake was able to track the suspect and flush him out of a wooded area where officers took Scott into custody. K9 Jake also located articles in the wooded area that were stolen during the burglary Scott is facing charges which include felony counts of Residential Burglary 2 counts of Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Possession of Methamphetamine less than 5 grams as well as several misdemeanors.
