according to an international investigation. tensions have been running high. this is yet another ratchet up in the escalating tensions on the peninsula. it sounds like from north korea more mouths moving versus military movement. but explain you kind of hit on the exercises here. again these aren t just routine. specifically, these exercises were done to send a direct message to north korea. you re absolutely right. robert gates, the u.s. defense secretary, said that this is being done absolutely on purpose to send a very clear message to north korea to stop its provocative and war-like acts. that coming from the defense secretary. they re trying to send a message with what may seem to our audience as, okay, this is a military exercise right off the coast of south korea. but this is something that is going to be noticed in north korea and this is something that they can react to. but this is something that the u.s. wants to make sure that they hear loud and clear through
