michigan s democratic primary without opposition on tuesday. also in michigan, nbc news projects that john gibbs as the winner in the gop primary for the state s third congressional district. the trump-endorsed challenger to gop congressman peter meijer declared victory in the nationally-watched race. gibbs was a political appointee in trump s housing and urban development agency and pitched himself as ultraconservative replacement for congressman meijer. meijer voted to impeach then president trump after the january 6th attack on the capitol. he called gibbs early this morning and conceded the race. another republican who voted for trump s impeachment on their way out of washington. meanwhile, nbc news projects that progressive democratic congressman andy levin lost to a more moderate in his own party. haley stevens.
