“After the untimely demise of NAPOLCOM (National Police Commission) vice chairman Rogelio Casurao, we are heartbroken to lose another fellow public servant with whom the DILG has worked very closely through the years in many undertakings,’’ DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said.
Año noted that the MMDA under Lim “has been truly valuable in effectively implementing the protocols set forth by the President and by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases since the public health crisis began.’’
Año praised Lim for unifying and solidifying the Metro Manila mayors in “addressing many issues and challenges in the government’s response to the pandemic.’’

BAGUIO CITY – The City Health Service Office (CHSO) here reported the death of two patients related to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and 52 new infections on Saturday, December 19.
CHSO said the first fatality was a 60-year-old male, who was admitted at the Pines City Doctors Hospital on December18, due to acute respiratory failure, and was diagnosed to be infected with COVID-19.
The second fatality was a 59-year-old female, who was admitted at the Baguio City General Hospital and Medical Center on December 17, and died on December 19 due to acute coronary syndrome, acute respiratory failure from COVID-19 pneumonia, among other ailments.

BAGUIO CITY – The city government is ready for the expected surge in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases during the Yuletide season with isolation units being upgraded and more than 1,000 isolation beds to be completed by the end of the year.
The former Sto. Niño hospital which is serving as the central isolation unit will have a maximum bed capacity of 400 by the end of the month compared to its present capacity of 233 beds.
The 116-bed Roxas hall and the 112-bed Hernandez Hall and Superintendent’s Quarters at the Baguio Teachers Camp are being upgraded to a 560-bed joint capacity by the end of the month.
