Gardai seize €30,000 worth of cocaine and arrest one man following traffic stop on Slowdown Day

GARDAI have seized €30,000 worth of cocaine and arrested one man following a traffic stop carried out as part of Operation Slowdown yesterday.
National Slowdown Day was held over a 24-hour period between 7am on December 11 to 7am this morning.

Gardai attached to Newtownmountkennedy Roads Policing Unit stopped a car on the N11 at Drummin Delgany in Wicklow.
A search of the vehicle was carried out and a substantial amount of cocaine was discovered.
A Gardai spokesperson said in a statement: With the assistance of Bray and Greystones Units, a number of searches were conducted at houses in the Dun Laoghaire and Brittas Bay areas. A small quantity of cocaine and ecstasy were discovered.
