West Virginia officials slate vaccination clinics | News, Sports, Jobs

editorial@newsandsentinel.com CHARLESTON Vaccination clinics are scheduled this week in local counties and around West Virginia, Gov. Jim Justice, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources and the West Virginia Joint Interagency Task Force for COVID-19 Vaccines said in a joint release. The vaccination program through the Operation Save Our Wisdom initiative this week will be offered to residents 65 and older. All West Virginians 16 and older are encouraged to pre-register for a vaccination through the Vaccine Registration System at www.vaccinate.wv.gov or by calling 1 833 734-0965. The information line is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Jan 25, 2021 A free appointment-only COVID-19 vaccination clinic for residents 65 and older will be held Thursday in Wood County with appointments based on the existing waiting list, the state said on Monday. The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the West Virginia University at Parkersburg Center for Early Learning, 300 Campus Drive, according to a joint press release from Gov. Jim Justice, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources and the West Virginia Joint Interagency Task Force for COVID-19 Vaccines. The clinic and others around West Virginia are through the Operation Save Our Wisdom initiative to immunize older residents of the state. This week’s clinics, which will be held from Wednesday to Saturday, are available for residents 65 years of age and older, the release said.

The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the WVU-Parkersburg Early Childhood Education Center, 300 Campus Drive, and will be by appointment only, according to a joint press release from the governor, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources and the West Virginia Joint Interagency Task Force for COVID-19 Vaccines. Residents can begin calling 304-420-1449 at noon Wednesday for an for an appointment or to be put on the wait list, according to the release. Names will continue to be taken for inclusion on the wait list, it said.
