A teenage boy was detained by officers after scrambler bikes were ridden in an antisocial manner , Merseyside Police have confirmed. Officers were contacted at 3pm today over reports the bikes were seen around Edenhurst Avenue in Roby. This comes a day after a woman in her 20s was critically injured after she was hit by a scrambler bike on a nearby road, Court Hey Road, on Monday afternoon.

Two arrests after reports of bikes ridden dangerously ahead of funeral

Police received reports of bikes being ridden dangerously ahead of a funeral at St Helens Crematorium POLICE say that an investigation is ongoing following reports of bikes being ridden dangerously ahead of a funeral. Officers were called to Maple Avenue in Newton-le-Willows to reports of bikes being driven dangerously in the area at around 10am on Monday, January 25. It is believed that the riders were assembling ahead of a funeral being held at St Helens Crematorium on Rainford Road. Bikes were also reportedly blocking a section of the East Lancashire Road in St Helens. Supported by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter, two suspects were detained and a total of three bikes seized.
