intelligence agencies. pentagon spokesman george little tried to reassure american allies, quote: we maintain full confidence in our weapons platforms. suggestions that cyber intrusions have somehow led to the erosion of our capabilities or technological edge are incorrect. the chinese government balked at the new accusations. we have said many times that cyber attacks are a global challenge. since it is technically untraceable, it is difficult to find the source and identify the hacker. the white house says the issue of cyber attacks will be brought up when president obama meets the chinese president ping next month in california, bret. bret: jennifer griffin live at the pentagon. jennifer, thank you. the syrian civil war is at a crossroads tonight. both the european union and russia are making noise about sending in more weapons. israel is threatening to take out russian arms. and all this comes as efforts intensify to get
there is a new cnn poll today saying 54% disapproval. this is really their worst political problem. bret: i should say another of the potential sandals or at least being looked into is kathleen sebelius and going after private money to pitch the obama care law. that s the obama administration s own iran contra raising the money on the side because it can t get it through congress. which constitutionally supposed to appropriate executive spends. i think on this issue with the unions, you heard the president in the clip you showed. he said nothing the plan will require you to change your coverage. it s a very clever construction. it is true technically true. you are not required to change but, of course, so much is changing in the system that all the incentives are changed and people are going to lose it it s called unintended consequence but, of course, it s one and even unforeseen, it was obvious, the arrogance of altering hundreds of elements of the
plans that they offer to their employees may no longer be viable under the affordable care act. the issue is that multi-employer unions, those for construction workers, food and commercial workers and others who ho negotiate contracts with many different employers believe they were mislead by this pledge to unions from president obama. nothing in this plan will require to you change your coverage or your doctor. the head of the united food and commercial workers wrote an op ed flatfully the president s statement to labor in 2009 is simply not true for millions of workers. the roofer s union is even angrier and its leader is, quote: calling for repeal or complete reform of the affordable care act. several unions declined to be interviewed on camera about their complaints. their issue is. this they argue they gave up wage gains over the years in order to get healthcare and other benefits. they also argue their plans are better than those to be offered on the exchanges so they are a
president the to give their 20 million members the same subsidies those on the exchanges get. if healthcare benefits are something that they will be able to get on their own, that leaves less of an offer that these unions provide. but the unions complain the administration is doing nothing with the roofer s union president saying their concerns, quote: have not been addressed or, in some instances, totally ignored. the fear among union leaders is that younger or lower wage workers would drop union benefits to go on the exchanges and then might leave the unions all together. you can keep your job, drop out of union, stop paying the dues, and still get a good health plan that is subsidized by the federal government. every time the government provides an additional benefit, it is one less benefit that the union can provide. and it s one less reason why a union is absolutely necessary. thought unions want the administration to simply write a regulation granting their 20 million m
