Court Sets Date To Rule On Plea By Former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ekweremadu Against Interim Forfeiture Of 40 Seized Property

A Federal High Court in Abuja will on January 25, 2023 rule on the application of embattled Senator Ike Ekweremadu, seeking a court order to set aside the verdict ordering the interim forfeiture of his landed property. SaharaReporters reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on November 4 secured an interim order from the Federal High Court for the forfeiture of 40 landed property linked to the former Deputy Senate President who has been in detention in the UK over alleged human organ harvesting.  

Lagos Commercial Drivers Suspend Strike Amid Failed Negotiations, To Resume Action November 14 If Detained Drivers Are Not Released Unconditionally, Demands Not Met

The striking commercial drivers in Lagos under the aegis of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN) have said the outstanding issues that led to the strike have not been resolved yet.  The group in a statement issued by its National President, Comrade Abiodun Akintade, and obtained by SaharaReporters on Sunday also accused the Lagos State government of arresting and charging some of their members to court for joining the strike.
