The driver, 27-year-old Amina Mohamed, of Minneapolis, is accused of kidnapping her little sister, 2-year-old Nasteha Mohamed. State police received a ‘be on the lookout’ notification for a 2013 gold Chevrolet Equinox around 10:30 a.m. Authorities pinged Amina’s cell phone near Exit 42-Geneva on the NYS Thruway shortly after. About 10 minutes later, troopers noticed a speeding Equinox with matching plates from the BOLO near Exit 40-Weedsport in the town of Brutus.

New York State Police said 2-year-old Nasteha Mohamed was located Tuesday after Troopers received a “be on the lookout” notification for a gold 2013 Chevrolet Equinox with Minnesota license plates around 10:30 a.m. WKTV reports Mohamed’s older sister, 27-year-old Amina Mohamed of Minneapolis, was suspected of kidnapping the child. Authorities pinged her cell phone near Exit 42-Geneva on the NYS Thruway and State Troopers found the vehicle 10 minutes later, speeding near Exit 40-Weedsport in the town of Brutus.
