Oneonta fire chief to retire in March
Oneonta, N.Y. The City of Oneonta announced that Oneonta Fire Chief Patrick Pidgeon will retire after 36 years with the city in March.

Oneonta, N.Y. The City of Oneonta announced that Oneonta Fire Chief Patrick Pidgeon will retire after 36 years with the city in March.
According to the release from the city, he served as a firefighter, crew leader, fire captain and eventually was promoted chief, a position he has held since 2010. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of assignments including training, emergency medical services, fire prevention, and emergency management.
Two Toddlers Die in Early Morning East Meredith, NY Blaze
This has been received from the Delaware County Department of Emergency Services:
On Friday, February 9th at 1:46 am. Delaware 911 received a 911 call for a structure fire in the East Meredith Fire District.
Upon arrival on scene at 478 Dehning Road responding units found a 4-unit apartment building fully involved with reports of two children trapped in one of the upstairs apartments.
Officials have confirmed fatalities of two children, ages 1 and 3 and the transport of one adult male with burns.
Fire & EMS units responded from East Meredith, Pindars Corners, Davenport, Delhi, Bloomville, Franklin, Meridale, Oneonta Fire & EMS and CMT.
