So called Sanctuary Cities for illegal immigrants in “Sanctuary States” have become a breeding ground for illegals to hide out when wanted by the law since 2000, causing friction between federal and local law enforcements and officials.
The idea took hold recently for creating Sanctuary States for law abiding 2nd Amendment Advocates who, with defunding of police and left wing promotion of violence against the innocent, need to feel safe in the high crime Sanctuary States and nation wide. They reacted. Thus, the greatest purchase of home defense weapons was triggered.
But those 2nd Amendment believers want more than just the right to own or carry a gun to protect from criminal elements, they want protection from local laws.
2020 was obviously an epoch-making year for economies everywhere and these historic shifts are fully reflected in the web pages of BRINK.
In all, we published 130 articles on the status of the economy in 2020 some on global tectonic shifts, but many pieces looking at what was going on in individual countries, as varied as Chile, Vietnam, India, Saudi Africa, Japan and Germany.
Optimism at the Beginning
The year began with a sense of confidence about the general direction of things. On January 28, we ran a piece by CEO Jim Kaitz of Association for Financial Professionals, called “Finance Executives Are Optimistic About 2020”, which was followed by a Quick Take entitled, “People Skills a Priority Even As Tech Drives Jobs Growth in Major Economies.” However, on that same day as the Quick Take (January 30), we also ran our first piece on COVID-19 entitled “Coronavirus: One Step Back for the Global Economy.”
yeah. nancy pelosi is saying we ate their lunch. who gets a victory? i would say she spent more time at the buffet than trump. not from the physical looks. but they got more at the end. because trump was so desperate. if you take one step back trump ran saying that i m going to get rid of the worse trade deals in history. the worst trade deals. nafta was a good deal. it was negotiated by a republican president. it was passed by a democratic president and the democratic president had to lean on the democratic party to get enough votes. this was supported in large by republicans. with some democrats coming across to support it. it s a bipartisan idea. there were things that needed to be fixed. they were. all this is is a slight upgrade from nafta. which trump said was the worst trade deal in history.

typical north korean, two steps forward, one step back, that s what they always do. and in some ways, kim jong-un may have met his match here with our very unconventional president. what i ve been long an advocate for, let s first establish the conduit, the apparatus for communicating, which i think would be a real plus for the summit, and by that i mean, establishing interest sections in both washington and pyongyang. and what this means is a diplomatic presence below the level of a full embassy, much as we did in halvana, cuba for decades. it would facilitate a lot more insight and understanding of what s going on in north korea and most importantly would give the north koreans a measure of security. if they could agree to tone down the rhetoric and use that conduit instead, that would be an improvement.
