Carter (Labour) “Martin Carter has been a Britwell Councillor since 2011, and has represented the communities of Britwell & Northborough, since Northborough joined the ward at the 2014 elections. Martin is married with a grown-up family and has lived in Slough for over 20 years. Martin runs his own computer repair business and also provides technology support services for the ‘One Slough’ Voluntary Partnership. “As your Councillor, Martin has worked to secure parking improvements; get better upkeep of open spaces; and to get action stepped up against anti-social behaviour, to help keep our community safe. National award for Slough charity that met the challenge when Covid struck An 80 year old Slough charity that has provided a lifeline for many during the pandemic has won a national award. Slough Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) scooped a Heart of the Community award from the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action - thanks to its work during the crisis. Ramesh Kukar, chief executive of Slough CVS said: “This year we used all the knowledge we had acquired over the years from networking meetings and listening to grassroots voices to overcome the biggest issue that the world has faced in most of our lifetimes the Covid-19 pandemic.
