Back at the turn of the century, boy bands were in their prime. In 1999, Backstreet Boys’ hit single “I Want It That Way” earned nominations for Record Of The Year and Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, as well as nods for Best Pop Album and Album Of The Year for their third studio album,
Millennium. Just one year later, NSYNC earned three nominations – Record Of The Year (“Bye Bye Bye”), Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals (“Bye Bye Bye”) and Best Pop Vocal Album (
No Strings Attached). While they didn’t take home any awards, they were recognised across the board.
