Slavia Prague s Ondrej Kudela has been banned for 10 matches after racially abusing Glen Kamara - with the Rangers midfielder suspended for three games.
The Finn has been found guilty of assaulting Kudela in the tunnel after the sides stormy Europa League meeting at Ibrox in March, which Slavia won.
Kamara s lawyer, Aamer Anwar, called Kudela s sanction the barest minimum penalty and made a mockery of Uefa s claims on taking racism seriously . He also suggested Kamara s suspension was reduced from five games on appeal.
Paris (AFP) – Rangers said Glen Kamara had been vindicated after UEFA banned Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela for 10 European matches on Wednesday for racially abusing the Finnish midfielder in a Europa League match.
Kamara has been suspended for three matches in UEFA club competitions for an “assault” on Kudela that reportedly took place in the tunnel after the match at Ibrox on March 18.
Rangers forward Kemar Roofe was also handed a four-match ban for his high challenge that left Slavia goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar with a fractured skull in the bad-tempered last 16, second leg tie.
“We welcome the suspension imposed on Ondrej Kudela. This not only vindicates Glen Kamara’s evidence but underlines the severity of the comment, given the number of games has been imposed by UEFA,” Rangers said in a statement.

Rangers say Glen Kamara has been “vindicated” after Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela was handed a 10-game ban by UEFA after being found guilty of racist behaviour towards the Ibrox midfielder.
But Kamara’s lawyer Aamer Anway has accused European football’s governing of issuing a “token” punishment as he insisted Kudela should have been kicked out of football for a year.
The Czech Republic centre-back is set to miss this summer’s Euros after he was punished for whispering a disgraceful slur into Kamara’s ear during last month’s explosive Europa League clash in Glasgow.

Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela has been suspended for ten games by UEFA for racially abusing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, who has also received a three-game ban for sparking a melee in the tunnel post-match.
In a heated Europa League clash at Ibrox last month, tempers reached boiling point near the end of the game as Kudela approached Kamara before covering his mouth to whisper something into his ear.
The remark sparked a furious reaction from the 25-year-old and his Rangers teammates, with the Finnish international later taking to social media to provide his version of events; a story which makes for truly dire reading.
